Arabic vocabulary
How to say “guidance” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَسُؤَالُ الْهِدَايَةِ مُتَضَمِّنٌ لِحُصُولِ كُلِّ خَيْرٍ،
So asking for guidance implies obtaining every good,
الْهِدَايَةِ — the guidance. This definite noun is the second half of a possessive pairing with 'asking' before it, so the two nouns together mean 'the asking of guidance'. Arabic builds 'X of Y' by placing the nouns side by side with no separate 'of', and this owner noun supplies the definiteness for the whole phrase, sitting in the genitive ending.
