How to say “obtaining” in Arabic, with pronunciation and real example sentences from OpenArabic texts.
فَسُؤَالُ الْهِدَايَةِ مُتَضَمِّنٌ لِحُصُولِ كُلِّ خَيْرٍ،
So asking for guidance implies obtaining every good,
لِحُصُولِ — for obtaining. The li- prefix is the 'to/for' preposition, and after a participle like 'implying' it marks the thing implied, putting the following noun in the genitive. So it links 'implies' to its target, the obtaining, rather than just gluing on a stray 'for'.
From: The Bridge to Paradise →وَبَعْدَ حُصُولِ الدِّينَارِ لَا يُبَالُونَ،
And after they obtain the dinar, they do not care.
حُصُولِ — of obtaining. An action-noun (the 'getting/obtaining' of something) standing in the 'of'-style ending because the time word 'after' governs it. It also heads its own 'of' chain with the next noun: 'the obtaining of the dinar', so it is at once governed by 'after' and the possessed head of the smaller chain.
