Arabic vocabulary
How to say “at dawn” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَيَرْحَلُ مِنْ عِنْدَهُمَا سَحَرًا،
He then departs from their place at dawn.
سَحَرًا — at dawn. A time-telling noun thrown into the adverb slot (the extra '-an' ending is what turns a plain noun into 'at this time'). It answers 'when?' for the verb and needs no preposition to do so, since the ending alone signals the time-of-action role.
