How to say “be seized with alarm” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَفَزِعَ لِذَلِكَ أُمَيَّةُ فَزَعًا شَدِيدًا،
So Umayyah was seized with intense alarm at that.
فَفَزِعَ — so was seized with alarm. A fa- of result ('so') on a past verb with 'he' inside, meaning to be gripped by fright. It frames the alarm as the direct upshot of what was just heard.
