Arabic vocabulary
How to say “beginning” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَلَوْ كَانَتْ إِضَافَتُهُ إِلَيْهِ إِضَافَةَ إِنْشَاءِ وَابْتِدَاءٍ لَمْ يَكُنْ رَسُولًا،
And if it were attributed to him as origination and initiation, he would not be a messenger.
وَابْتِدَاءٍ — and initiation. Here 'and' links a second owner-noun into the chain, so 'origination and initiation' together fill the owner slot. Being joined by 'and' and sharing the same possessive role, it copies the genitive ending of its partner; it is indefinite, presenting the idea in general terms.
