Arabic vocabulary
How to say “begot” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَأَنْجَبَ مِنْ زَوْجَتِهِ الْأُولَى عَشَرَةً أَوْلَادٍ،
He had ten children by his first wife.
فَأَنْجَبَ — so he begot. This bolts a sequence-connector 'so/then' onto a past verb, 'fathered', advancing the narrative from the marriage to its result. The connector marks 'and so he had...'; the verb's 'he' subject is built in.
