Arabic vocabulary
How to say “benefit” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَلَا يُضَيِّعُ وَقْتَهُ مِنْ غَيْرِ فَائِدَةٍ،
So he did not waste his time on anything that brought no benefit.
فَائِدَةٍ — benefit. An indefinite noun completing the 'without any benefit' phrase, in the genitive as the owned member after 'other-than'. Its indefiniteness is the point: any benefit at all is what is absent. It closes the negative idiom.
