وَاحْرِصْ عَلَى اللَّحَاقِ بِهِمْ،
And strive to catch up with them.
اللَّحَاقِ — the catching up. A verbal noun ('the catching-up'), the goal governed by the preceding 'upon' and so in the genitive, with its definite al- assimilating into the following sun letter. The verbal noun names the action as a thing to aim at rather than as a finished event. The people to be reached are added by the next word.
