Arabic vocabulary
How to say “strive” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَاحْرِصْ عَلَى اللَّحَاقِ بِهِمْ،
And strive to catch up with them.
وَاحْرِصْ — and strive. The wa- joins this command to the previous one ('and be eager'), continuing the chain of exhortations. The verb it carries is an imperative, 'strive/be keen', with its 'you' subject built in. The connector simply adds another instruction to the sequence without restarting it.
