Arabic vocabulary
How to say “ceased” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَإِذَا فَارَقَهُنَّ وَصَاحَبَ فُحُولَ الرِّجَالِ زَالَتْ عَنْهُ،
So when he left them and kept company with virile men, it ceased from him.
زَالَتْ — it ceased. A past-tense verb in a feminine form, its ending agreeing with the unnamed feminine quality (the rashness) that is its subject. It delivers the result of the 'when' clause: the trait went away. The feminine ending tracks that earlier topic.
