How to say “claws” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَرَأَى الْجُرْذَ يَحْفُرُ بِمَخَالِبِ مِنْ حَدِيدٍ
Then he saw the rat digging with iron claws.
بِمَخَالِبِ — with claws. The 'bi-' fused at the front marks the instrument, 'with', naming what the digging is done by. It governs the plural noun after it into the 'of'-style ending, so 'digging with claws' is built here. It then heads forward into the 'of iron' phrase that specifies the claws.
