ولبسوا الثوب النظيف وشموا الطيب وأمسكوا عن الحركات،
They would wear clean clothes, smell perfume, and refrain from movements.
النَّظِيفَ — the clean. The al- makes this definite, 'the clean'. It is an adjective describing 'the garment' and so agrees with it in being definite and in case, sharing the -a object ending of the noun it modifies.
