How to say “conversation” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
ثُمَّ أَعَدَدْتُ أَعْمَالًا لَا تَمْنَعُ مِنَ المُحَادَثَةِ لِأَوْقَاتِ لِقَائِهِمْ،
Then I prepared tasks that would not prevent conversation for the times of their meeting,
المُحَادَثَةِ — conversation. A definite noun with al- governed by the preceding 'from', and so in the genitive. It names what the tasks were chosen not to interfere with. Its al- gives the activity its generic sense.
