And it is said, and this is correct, that it is an active participle in its original sense.
الصَّوَابُ — is correct. A noun made definite by al-, 'the correct', the predicate of the aside: 'this is the correct view'. The al- restricts it; there is no verb 'is', so the noun beside the pronoun forms the statement.
