It is a field for gathering thoughts before they crowd the tongue.
تَتَزَاحَمَ — they crowd. A Form VI verb — the 'do-to-each-other' pattern — 'crowd / jostle one another,' in the subjunctive (the -a) after 'an,' feminine to agree with 'thoughts.' Silence lets thoughts settle before they elbow each other onto the tongue.
