Arabic vocabulary
How to say “cuts off” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
كُلُّ يُلْقِي نَاصِيَتَهُ بِيدِهِ فَيُجَزُّهَا،
Each one takes his forelock in his hand and then cuts it off.
فَيُجَزُّهَا — then cuts it off. Three things in one word: the connector fa- that adds a 'then' step, a present-tense verb, and an 'it' pronoun on the end as its object. Fa- signals the cutting follows straight after the grabbing, and the final pronoun ties the object back to the forelock just mentioned.
