Arabic vocabulary
How to say “throws” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
كُلُّ يُلْقِي نَاصِيَتَهُ بِيدِهِ فَيُجَزُّهَا،
Each one takes his forelock in his hand and then cuts it off.
يُلْقِي — throws. A present-tense verb with 'he' built into its shape, agreeing with the 'each one' subject as a singular. Arabic carries the doer inside the verb, so one word states both the action and that it is each individual performing it.
