How to say “dawn” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَلَوْ قَدْ طَلَعَ عَلَيْهِ صُبْحُ الْعِلْمِ اِفْتَضَحَ
So if the dawn of knowledge had risen upon him, he would have been exposed.
صُبْحُ — the dawn. The head of a possessive pairing, 'the dawn of knowledge', and the subject of the rising. As the first half of the chain it leaves off its own 'the', drawing definiteness from the owner-noun after it.
