Arabic vocabulary
How to say “dawn” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَيَبِيتَانِ فِي رِسْلِهَا حَتَّى يَنْعِقَ بِهَا عَامِرُ بْنُ فُهَيْرَةِ بِغَلَسٍ،
So they two spent the night in its pen until Amir ibn Fuhayrah cried out with it at dawn.
بِغَلَسٍ — at dawn. The bi- marks a time-circumstance 'at/in', fixing the dimness of dawn as when the call happens; it holds the noun in the 'of' ending. The word answers 'when?' for the calling.
