How to say “deceive” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فالمؤمن يزن الأمور بميزان العاقبة، ولا يغتر بحلاوة الشهوة العاجلة
The believer weighs matters with the scale of the outcome and is not deceived by the sweetness of immediate desire.
يَغْتَرُّ — is deceived. A present-tense verb carrying its own 'he' subject, negated by the preceding 'not': he is not deceived. The reflexive-passive pattern gives it the sense of letting oneself be fooled.
