How to say “defending his self” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَقِلَّةً مَقْدِرَتِهِ عَلَى مُدَافَعَتِهِ
And his lack of ability to defend his self.
مُدَافَعَتِهِ — defending his self. An action-noun naming the act of 'defending', with a possessor 'his' fused on the end marking whose self is defended. Governed by the preceding preposition, it takes the 'of' (genitive) ending. Arabic often turns a whole 'to defend himself' idea into one such noun.
