How to say “his ability” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَقِلَّةً مَقْدِرَتِهِ عَلَى مُدَافَعَتِهِ
And his lack of ability to defend his self.
مَقْدِرَتِهِ — his ability. A noun 'ability' with a possessor 'his' fused at its end, and it heads into the next phrase as 'his ability to...'. The suffix supplies the owner without a separate word and makes the noun definite. It sits in the same possessive pairing that 'lack' began: 'lack of his ability'.
