How to say “deprivation of” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَمَنْ خُفِّيَ عُقُوبَاتُهُمْ سَلْبُ حَلَاوَةِ الْمُنَاجَاةِ،
And among their hidden punishments is the deprivation of the sweetness of private supplication.
سَلْبُ — the deprivation of. A verbal noun ('the stripping-away') that heads a possessive chain and serves as the predicate identifying what the hidden punishment is. Because it owns the noun that follows, it begins a 'X of Y' run: the deprivation OF the sweetness OF private prayer.
