Arabic vocabulary
How to say “devotional seclusion” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَيَتَحَنَّثُ فِيهِ ـ قَالَ وَالْتَّحَنُّثُ التَّعَبُّدُ ـ
So he practices devotional seclusion in it, and he said that devotional seclusion is devout worship.
وَالْتَّحَنُّثُ — and the devotional seclusion. The wa- opens the explanatory aside, and the noun carries the 'the' marker making it the known term being defined. The 'the' sound here assimilates into the following consonant, a regular pronunciation effect, but its grammatical job is still definiteness.
