Arabic vocabulary
How to say “equip” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
قَالَتْ فَجَهَّزْنَاهُمَا أَحَثَّ الْجِهَازِ،
She said, so we equipped them with the most complete equipment.
فَجَهَّزْنَاهُمَا — so we equipped them. A bundle of three: fa- as 'so', a past verb 'we equipped', and -huma ('them, the two') fused on as its object. That dual object is the key, it specifies exactly two recipients, the Prophet and Abu Bakr, so one word carries subject, verb and a precise dual object.
