Arabic vocabulary
How to say “eternity” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فتبا لك سائر الدهر ؛
Then woe to you for all eternity;
الدَّهْرِ — the time. The al- marks this definite, 'the age, all time', and it sits in the possessed, 'of'-type ending because 'all' before it owns it: 'all of time'. The owned noun takes this ending to complete the span over which the woe applies.
