How to say “filled” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
مثل ما روي عن أبي حمزة الصوفي أنه وقع في بئر فجاء رجلان فَطمّاها،
Like the story narrated about Abu Hamza al-Sufi, who fell into a well, and then two men came and filled it up.
فَطَمَّاها — and filled it. The opening particle marks the next step, and the verb carries a dual 'they-two' subject by its ending plus an attached feminine 'it' object, so one word means 'and the two filled it up'. The dual doer and the object are both packed into the verb.
