Arabic vocabulary
How to say “for the departure” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
ثُمَّ قَالَ أَلَمْ يَأْنِ لِلرَّحِيلِ
Then he said, "Is it not time to depart?"
لِلرَّحِيلِ — for the departure. Preposition 'for' fused with a definite noun whose 'al-' (the) is also pulled in, so one chunk says 'for the departure'. The preposition forces that noun into the 'of'-style ending and marks it as what it is time for. So it names the thing the question is about being due.
