How to say “forgive” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَأَنْ يُسَامِحَنَا فِي تَقْصِيرِنَا وَتَفْرِيطِنَا،
and that He forgive us for our shortcomings and carelessness,
يُسَامِحَنَا — he forgive us. A present-tense verb whose 'yu-' prefix carries a 'he' subject, pushed into its softened shape by the particle before it, with '-na' (us) as object. That softened form makes it part of the request, 'that He forgive us', with God understood as the subject.
