How to say “shortcomings” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَأَنْ يُسَامِحَنَا فِي تَقْصِيرِنَا وَتَفْرِيطِنَا،
and that He forgive us for our shortcomings and carelessness,
تَقْصِيرِنَا — our shortcomings. A noun closed by '-na' (our), the possessor glued to its end where English keeps a separate word. Sitting in the form the preposition before it requires, the suffix marks the failings as the speaker's group's own, the thing forgiveness is asked for.
