  اِجْتِمَاعِ — gathering of. This noun is the front half of a possessive chain: it joins directly to the noun after it to mean 'the gathering OF...', with no separate word for 'of'. It sits in the genitive because the time-word before it governs it, and it stays bare of its own 'the', taking definiteness from what follows.
