Arabic vocabulary
How to say “gathering” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَشَاهَدْنَا مَجْلِسًا رَجُلٍ لَيْسَ مِنْ عَمْرِوْ وَلَا زَيْدٍ،
Then we saw the gathering of a man who was neither Amr nor Zayd.
مَجْلِسًا — a gathering. An indefinite noun 'a gathering', the object of the seeing verb, so it takes the object-style ending with the indefinite two-stroke marking. Being indefinite presents it as one previously unspecified assembly. It heads a possessive pairing with 'a man' that follows.
