Arabic vocabulary
How to say “geese” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَأَحَدُكُمْ يَسْرِقُ أَوْزًا جَارِهِ
And one of you steals his neighbor's geese.
أَوْزًا — geese. An indefinite noun, geese, marked non-specific by its tail vowel-with-n sound, and it is the thing stolen, so it takes the object case. It also opens a possessive pair, 'geese of...', with the next word as its owner. Being the first of the pair, it leans forward to whom the geese belong.
