Arabic vocabulary
How to say “good” in Arabic, with pronunciation and real example sentences from OpenArabic texts.
إِن أكلت أكلت طيبا وَإِن أطعمت أطعمت طيبا
If it consumes, it consumes from the good, and if it gives, it gives from the good.
طَيِّبًا — good. The '-an' ending makes this the accusative of what is eaten, 'something wholesome'. Indefinite, it says the bee takes in only what is pure, the model being held up to you.
From: Contentment with What God Wills →إِن أكلت أكلت طيبا وَإِن أطعمت أطعمت طيبا
If it consumes, it consumes from the good, and if it gives, it gives from the good.
طَيِّبًا — good. Again the accusative 'something wholesome', now as what the bee gives. The deliberate echo of the eating clause completes the lesson: it both takes and gives only the good.
