Arabic vocabulary
How to say “greatly” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَاِخْتَلَفُوا فِي الْعَقَائِدِ وَالْأَفْعَالِ اِخْتِلَافًا
And they differed greatly in beliefs and in actions.
اِخْتِلَافًا — greatly. A verbal noun in the object-style ending used adverbially to intensify the verb, an emphatic echo meaning 'differed with much differing', i.e. greatly. Arabic strengthens a verb by adding its own action-noun like this. It tells how severely they differed.
