How to say “has become wealthy” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَإِذَا بَلَغَكَ أَنْ فَقِيرًا اِسْتَغْنَى فَصَدِّقْ،
And if it reaches you that a poor man has become wealthy, then believe it.
اِسْتَغْنَى — has become wealthy. A past-tense verb with its 'he' subject built in, forming the claim of the reported clause: that the poor man came into wealth. It is the predicate the 'that' particle was setting up. Person and tense ride inside the verb shape.
