Arabic vocabulary
How to say “his sound” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَغِبْتُ عَنْهُ بِحَيْثُ أَسْمَعُ حَسَّهُ وَلَا أَرَى شَخْصَهُ
I withdrew from him so that I could hear his sound, but I could not see his person.
حَسَّهُ — his sound. This noun carries the attached '-hu' (his), giving 'his sound', and it is the object of 'I hear', what was still perceptible. The '-hu' points back to the man withdrawn from. It sets up the deliberate contrast with the unseen 'his person' that follows: sound yes, sight no.
