How to say “I mock” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَقُلْتُ إِنِّي لَا أَسْتَهْزِئُ بِكَ
So I said, "I am not mocking you."
أَسْتَهْزِئُ — I mock. A present-tense verb with the 'I' subject in its prefix; its drawn-out pattern marks an added-letter verb form. It is the action the speaker negates, and it reaches its object through the preposition that follows rather than directly.
