How to say “I wished” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَأَرَدْتُهَا عَنْ نَفْسِهَا،
So I made her change her mind.
فَأَرَدْتُهَا — so I made her change her mind. A past-tense verb 'wanted/sought' with its 'I' subject in the ending and an attached 'her' pronoun as object, fronted by fa-. The fa- chains the step on, and the suffix marks her as the one he sought, so one word holds connector, verb, subject and object.
