Arabic vocabulary
How to say “in worth” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَإِنَّهُمْ هُمْ الْأَقَلُّونَ قَدْرًا،
For indeed they are the least in worth.
قَدْرًا — in worth. This bare-accusative noun answers 'least in what respect?': in worth. Arabic regularly drops a noun in this 'specifying' accusative right after an elative to pin down the standard of the comparison. So 'the least' plus this one word equals 'the least in worth', the ending itself signalling the 'as regards...' role.
