How to say “increase” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَإِنْ نَالَ الْأَمَلَ، اِزْدَادَ خَيْرًا
And if one attained hope, he increased in good.
اِزْدَادَ — he increased. A past-tense 'he' verb with the prefixed-and-doubled pattern that means 'grew in / gained more', its subject in the form. It is the response half of the condition, the consequence that follows from attaining one's hope, and it leans on the next word to name what the increase is in.
