Arabic vocabulary
How to say “indeed” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
لقد دخلا غارا لَا يسكنهُ لابث
Indeed, they entered a cave where no one had stayed.
لَقَدْ — indeed. Two emphasis-markers are stacked here: an opening 'truly' plus a particle that, before a past verb, underlines that the act is completed and certain. Together they press the point, 'they really did enter', with a force English would carry by tone.
