How to say “entered” in Arabic, with pronunciation and real example sentences from OpenArabic texts.
لقد دخلا غارا لَا يسكنهُ لابث
Indeed, they entered a cave where no one had stayed.
دَخَلَا — they two entered. The final long '-aa' is Arabic's dual marker: this single verb form means 'the two of them entered', a category English lacks. No separate word for 'two' is needed; 'exactly two did it' is folded into the verb's ending.

دَخَلَ — he entered. This past-tense verb has its 'he' subject inside and reports the man's action, 'he entered'. It states the completed event within the narrated statement.
