Arabic vocabulary
How to say “intended” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
ولم يرد الجريان على الفعل
And the flow was not intended as an active form.
يُرَدِ — was intended. This is the passive form of the verb, pulled into the cut-short shape by the negator before it: 'was not intended', no doer named. Arabic marks the passive by reshaping internal vowels; its final vowel is adjusted because the next word starts with 'the'.
