Arabic vocabulary
How to say “is uncovered” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وذلك يوم يكشف عن ساق
And that is the day when the Shin will be uncovered,
يُكْشَفُ — will be uncovered. This is the passive form of the verb: the shin is what gets uncovered, while who or what does the uncovering is left unnamed. Arabic builds the passive not with a helper like English 'is/was' but by changing the vowels packed inside the verb itself, so the word looks close to its active twin yet flips who acts and who receives. It is also present-tense in shape, which is how the event is projected forward to that day.
