Arabic vocabulary
How to say “leave” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَلَمْ يَتْرُكْ مِنْهُ شَيْئًا،
So he left nothing of it.
يَتْرُكْ — he leave. A present-tense verb in form but past in meaning, its ending clipped into the shortened mood by the 'lam' before it; its 'he' subject sits in the prefix. The clipped ending is the grammatical fingerprint of negation by 'lam'.
