How to say “length” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَطُولُ الْأَمَلِ وَإِيثَارُ الْعَاجِلِ عَلَى الْآجِلِ
Lengthy hopes and preferring the immediate over the later.
وَطُولُ — and length. Two pieces: wa- ('and') continues the list, and the noun heads a possessive pairing with the next word ('length of hope'). As the first term it drops its own 'the' and takes definiteness from the owner that follows.
