Arabic vocabulary
How to say “melted” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَذَابَتْ بِهَا الْأَنْفُسُ اِحْتِرَاقًا،
And the souls melted because of it, consumed by burning.
وَذَابَتْ — and melted. The wa- on the front is the linking 'and' tying this clause to the previous one. The verb takes a feminine-singular past ending even though its subject 'souls' is a plural; Arabic lets a verb before a non-human plural agree as a single feminine group.
