Arabic vocabulary
How to say “mosque” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَخَرَجْتُ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ الَّذِي ذَكَرَ الْمَلْعُونُ فَدَخَلْتُهُ
So I went out to the mosque which the accursed had mentioned, and I entered it.
الْمَسْجِدِ — the mosque. Definite by 'al-' ('the'), and sitting in the genitive ending because the preposition of motion governs it. It is the target the speaker heads toward, so it names where the going-out lands.
