Arabic vocabulary
How to say “most knowledgeable” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
قُلْتُ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ
I said: 'Allah and His Messenger know best.'
أَعْلَمُ — know best. The shared predicate 'know best', an elative 'most-knowing' form, standing in the nominative to match its compound subject. Though it follows two subjects, it stays singular in shape, the usual pattern for this 'X-est' word. It rounds off the deferential 'God and His Messenger know best'.
